Main Trek Route
The Victoria To Edmonton Trek for the Annual Cycling for Celiacs will cover approximately 1400 kilometers over a period of 11 days. The route will take them through lower British Columbia, the Rocky Mountains and up through central Alberta.


DAY ONE (115K)
  • From Victoria follow Highway 17 to Swartz Bay (approximately 35 Km), Swartz bay to Tsawwassen (travelling time 1 1/2 hours). Swartz bay to Tsawwassen (Ferry time 1 1/2 hours). From Tsawwassen follow Highways 17, 10, and 1A to Abbotsford approximately (80 Km).
DAY TWO (100K)
  • Depart Abbotsford, follow Trans Canada Highway to Hope approximately 100Km.
DAY THREE (100K)
  • Depart Hope, follow Highway 5 from Hope to Merritt 110Km. (A couple of good climbs 3K at 6% and 3K at 8% along with numerous smaller climbs) the pay back is a 13Km downhill run into Merritt
DAY FOUR (110K)
  • Depart Merritt, follow highway 5a to Kamloops 100K. Very comfortable and enjoyable ride, only 1 difficult hill, plus a 10K downhill run into Kamloops.
DAY FIVE (100 Km)
  • Depart Kamloops, follow Trans Canada Highway to Salmon Arm.
DAY SIX (150 Km)
  • Depart Salmon Arm, follow Trans Canada Highway to Revelstoke.
DAY SEVEN (150 Km)
  • Depart Revelstoke, follow Trans Canada Highway to Golden. Approximately 145Km with a climb through the Rogers Pass (elevation 1327) followed by a 25Km downhill run.
DAY EIGHT (145 Km)
  • Depart Golden, follow Trans Canada Highway to Lake Louise approximately 75Km, 20Km climb out of Golden and a 16Km climb out of Field to the summit of Kicking Horse Pass (elevation 1643) Lake Louise to Canmore 80Km. (Bow Valley and Trans Canada Highway a very comfortable and scenic ride.
DAY NINE (145K)
  • Depart Canmore, follow Trans Canada Highway to Calgary 113 Km
DAY TEN (113 Km)
  • Depart Calgary, follow Highway 2 to Red Deer, rolling hills, approximately 145Km
DAY ELEVEN (145 Km)
  • Depart Red Deer, follow Highway 2 to Edmonton 150Km (Timing our arrival for 4:00pm)
